DESCRIPTION:A One-of-a-Kind Event on May 10th\, 2024\nKIDTHINK's first in-person fundraiser was a HUGE success. Thanks to the generosity of our community\, we were able to raise $350\,000! \nThe Price is Jeopardy was unique\, impactful and FUN - all while highlighting the need for accessible mental health care for children and their families. The current shortage of mental health treatment solutions is leaving Manitoban kids and their families in JEOPARDY. Not only is early intervention and prevention the BEST way to help kids and families\, it also reduces the burden on our health care system\, justice system and other social services. \nThanks to all who joined us for an engaging\, game show-themed evening!\n  \n"The Price is Jeopardy" event\, was hosted in the Grand Ballroom of the Fort Garry Hotel and brought the energy of a game show while highlighting mental health facts and solutions. \nI was an unforgettable night of laughter and entertainment hosted by actress and comedian Aisha Alfa with a headliner performance by illusionist\, Darcy Oake. \n \nAn Evening of Fun\, Games\, and More! \n5:00 PM - 6:15 PM:  Cocktail Hour & Games. Spin the wheel\, Punch-a-Bunch\, play Plinko and more to win raffle tickets! \n6:30 PM - 7:15 PM:  Jeopardy Live Show. Prepare for a unique twist on the classic game show. SUMMARY:Understanding Depression in Youths
DESCRIPTION:This workshop is available for FREE thanks to the support from the Bell Let's Talk Community Fund! \n \nAlthough we tend to associate low mood and other mental health concerns with adults\, children and youth can experience mental illnesses like depression. The purpose of this workshop is to challenge misconceptions\, help people to recognize the symptoms of depression and to learn strategies for supporting children and youth who experience low mood. At the end of the workshop\, participants will be able to: \n\nIdentify the causes and types of depression\nUnderstand the impact of depressive behaviours\, thoughts\, and emotions\nApply strategies to reduce levels of sadness and to increase feelings of happiness and hope\nEngage in supportive conversation\n\nThis event is being held online from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on May 15th\, 2024.
